US STOCKS-S&P, Nasdaq extend losses, fall 2 pct

(Reuters) - The Dow Jones industrial average was down 171.60
points, or 1.27 percent, at 13,291.73. The Standard & Poor's
500 Index was down 28.13 points, or 1.91 percent, at
1,444.07. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 49.53
points, or 1.92 percent, at 2,526.45.

US STOCKS-Nasdaq falls 1 percent; Apple leads decliners

(Reuters) - The Dow Jones industrial average was down 100.07
points, or 0.75 percent, at 13,258.24. The Standard & Poor's
500 Index was down 13.54 points, or 0.92 percent, at
1,460.37. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 28.51
points, or 1.10 percent, at 2,554.77.

US STOCKS-Indexes fall on fears of more credit problems

(Reuters) - The Dow Jones industrial average was down 30.98
points, or 0.23 percent, at 13,327.33. The Standard & Poor's
500 Index was down 6.10 points, or 0.41 percent, at
1,467.81. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 17.07

US STOCKS-Indexes dip at open; job data raises rate fears

(Reuters) - The Dow Jones industrial average was down 17.24
points, or 0.13 percent, at 13,548.60. The Standard & Poor's
500 Index was down 0.96 point, or 0.06 percent, at
1,524.44. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 0.80

US STOCKS-Indexes turn lower on rate worries

(Reuters) - The Dow Jones industrial average was down 11.22
points, or 0.08 percent, at 13,624.20. The Standard & Poor's
500 Index was down 2.32 points, or 0.15 percent, at
1,531.38. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 3.28
points, or 0.12 percent, at 2,623.48.

US STOCKS-S&P up 1 pct, Nasdaq at 6-yr high on economic view

(Reuters) - NEW YORK, June 15 - U.S. stocks rallied on
Friday, with the S&P 500 up 1 percent and the Nasdaq climbing
to its highest in a little more than six years, as investors
got some reassuring news about the economy's health from
government data pointing to moderate core inflation, excluding
food and energy.




The Dow Jones industrial average shot up 130
points, or 0.96 percent, to 13,683.06 -- less than 10 points
below its all-time high set on June 1. The Standard & Poor's
500 Index climbed to a session high at 1,538.71, up
slightly more than 1 percent from its close on Thursday. The
Nasdaq Composite Index was up 28.88 points, or 1.11
percent, at 2,628.29.

US STOCKS-S&P, Nasdaq at session highs after Fed's Beige Book

(Reuters) - NEW YORK, June 13 - The Standard & Poor's 500
index and the Nasdaq rose to session highs on Wednesday, after
the Federal Reserve said U.S. economic activity expanded from
mid-April through May and that overall wage pressures had not

The Dow Jones industrial average was up 106.62
points, or 0.80 percent, at 13,401.63. The Standard & Poor's
500 Index was up 14.64 points, or 0.98 percent, at
1,507.64. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 22.09
points, or 0.87 percent, at 2,571.86.

S&P 500 closes at first record high in 7 years

(Reuters) - The Dow Jones industrial average was up 110.44 points, or 0.82 percent, to end unofficially at 13,631.78. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was up 11.99 points, or 0.79 percent, to finish unofficially at 1,530.10. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 20.53 points, or 0.80 percent, to close unofficially at 2,592.59.

Yen Falls to Lowest Level in Three Months Versus Dollar on Gains in Stocks

(Bloomberg) -- The yen fell to the lowest level in
almost three months versus the dollar as traders resumed
borrowing Japan's currency to fund purchases of higher-yielding
assets.

The Japanese yen fell against 14 of 16 most-active
currencies after Asian stock markets reversed declines and equity
indexes in the U.S. gained. The Nasdaq Composite Index rose 0.9
percent. Japan has the lowest borrowing costs among major
nations, encouraging investors to participate in the so-called
carry trade.
