UPDATE 3-Yahoo posts lower profit, gives weak 2007 forecast

(Reuters) - SAN FRANCISCO, July 17 - Yahoo Inc.
reported a dip in quarterly profit on Tuesday as corporate
advertisers spent less on its online ads, and the company gave
a weaker-than-expected forecast for the rest of 2007.




Shares in the Internet media company fell 4.2 percent in
extended trade.

John Mackey panned Wild Oats on Web

(Reuters) - Company CEO John Mackey posted messages on a Yahoo! financial forum under the user name "rahodeb," according to a court document filed by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission and postings on Yahoo!




Mackey's messages painted a bright future for Whole Foods, the largest U.S. natural and organic grocer, and downplayed the threat posed by competitors.

New Yahoo CEO another Silicon Valley college dropout

(Reuters) - Yahoo, which Yang created as a graduate student at Stanford University to monitor his personal interests in the early days of the Web, is a far more complex business these days -- and one facing stiff challenges from arch-rival Google Inc.




It's a big step up for Yang. He has held the title of Chief Yahoo at the company for more than a decade, largely playing a role in managing key business development deals while leaving the top management powers to outside hires.
