Virginia Financial Group to acquire FNB Corp

(Reuters) - Current Virginia Financial President and Chief Executive
O.R. Barham will serve as president and CEO for the resulting
holding company, the companies said.

Utility blasts its Oregon dam to make way for fish

(Reuters) - "Today, this partnership took a great step toward restoring
a breathtaking river for fish, wildlife and people," Portland
General Electric CEO and President Peggy Fowler said in a
statement.




"We celebrate the future of a watershed that will provide
unimpeded salmon and steelhead passage from the slopes of Mt.
Hood to the Pacific Ocean."

UPDATE 1-Southern Copper 1st-half profit up significantly-CEO

(Reuters) - "The results, if you compare the first half of 2006 with
the first half of 2007, are going to be significantly higher,"
Southern Copper's CEO, Oscar Gonzalez, told reporters.




Southern Copper is controlled by Grupo Mexico
and has operations in southern Peru at the Toquepala and
Cuajone mines and Ilo smelter.

John Mackey panned Wild Oats on Web

(Reuters) - Company CEO John Mackey posted messages on a Yahoo! financial forum under the user name "rahodeb," according to a court document filed by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission and postings on Yahoo!




Mackey's messages painted a bright future for Whole Foods, the largest U.S. natural and organic grocer, and downplayed the threat posed by competitors.

UBS Ousts Wuffli, Names Rohner CEO; Board Rejects Ospel's Successor Plan

(Bloomberg) -- UBS AG, buffeted by three quarters of
declining earnings and losses at one of its hedge funds,
replaced Peter Wuffli as chief executive officer of the world's
biggest money manager.

Marcel Rohner, the Zurich-based company's deputy CEO, will
succeed Wuffli, effective immediately, UBS said in a statement
late yesterday. Marcel Ospel, 57, agreed to stay on as chairman
for at least another three years after the board rejected his
proposal to have Wuffli succeed him.

ABN, ING merger talks broke down on price-report

(Reuters) - ING said in April that it looked at buying ABN in November
and had hired advisors, but decided not to pursue a merger with
its Dutch rival. At the time ABN's shares traded at around 23
euros.




In an interview with Dutch magazine Forum, ABN CEO Rijkman
Groenink said that ABN's share price had risen about 20 percent
during talks with ING, while ING's shares declined 10 percent,
making a merger less attractive.

UPDATE 1-Fannie former execs to get bonus payouts -source

(Reuters) - WASHINGTON, July 3 - Former Fannie Mae top
executives Franklin Raines and Timothy Howard are set to
receive bonus payouts under the mortgage finance company's
recently announced compensation plan, sources familiar with the
deal said on Tuesday.




Raines, the former CEO, and former chief financial officer
Howard, who resigned in December 2004 as an accounting scandal
was breaking, are eligible for bonuses under a long-term
incentive program, the sources said.

UPDATE 1-Bear Stearns taps managers to restructure funds

(Reuters) - NEW YORK, June 26 - Bear Stearns Asset Management
CEO Richard Marin is taking a stronger role in managing its two
troubled hedge funds and tapped Thomas Marano, head of its
mortgage unit, to save one of the funds, said two sources
familiar with the decision.




Marin appointed Marano last week to help with the funds
managed by Ralph R. Cioffi, who retains his current role as
portfolio manager for both funds, said one source.

Dollar General says shareholders approve KKR deal

(Reuters) - NEW YORK, June 21 - Dollar General Corp. said on Thursday that its shareholders had approved the discount retailer's sale to private equity group Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. [KKR.UL]



Chairman and Chief Executive David Perdue expects to resign upon completion of the deal, the company said, and KKR expects to name current President and Chief Operating Officer David Bere as interim CEO while it looks for a replacement.

UPDATE 1-Janney taps Legg Mason's Scheve as CEO

(Reuters) - Earlier this year, Janney Montgomery Scott President and
CEO James Wolitarsky said he would retire this summer after
more than six years at the helm of the Philadelphia-based
firm.




Scheve's 23-year career at money manager Legg Mason
included a stint as president and CEO of Legg Mason Wood Walker
Inc., a broker-dealer unit that was sold to Citigroup in late
2005. Most recently, he served as CAO and head of international
asset management.

Brocade to pay $7 mln to settle stock option fraud

(Reuters) - "Brocade is being held accountable for the egregious and
long-running misconduct of its former CEO and other former
executives who misled investors and obscured the company's
financial condition and performance," the SEC stated.
