U.S. Stock-Index Are Little Changed; Boeing, Apple Shares Drop in Europe

(Bloomberg) -- U.S. stock-index futures were little
changed before Boeing Co. and Apple Inc. publish earnings and a
report that may show the extent of the slowdown in the housing
market.

Shares of Boeing, the world's largest maker of commercial
airplanes, and Apple, the maker of the iPhone, declined in
Europe. Amazon.com Inc., the world's biggest online retailer,
surged after reporting second-quarter profit that topped
analysts' estimates.

U.S. Stock-Index Are Little Changed; AT&T Falls, Oracle Rises in Europe

(Bloomberg) -- U.S. stock-index futures were little
changed before more than 10 percent of Standard & Poor's 500
Index members, including AT&T Inc. and McDonald's Corp., report
earnings.

Shares of AT&T, the largest U.S. phone service provider, and
McDonald's, the world's largest restaurant company, fell in
Europe. Texas Instruments Inc., biggest maker of mobile-phone
chips, declined after reporting profit that missed analysts'
estimates. Cisco Systems Inc. and Oracle Corp. gained.

U.S. Stock-Index Futures Rise; Yum! Brands, Genentech Gain Before Earnings

(Bloomberg) -- U.S. stock-index futures advanced
as investors speculated that second-quarter earnings will beat
analysts' estimates.

Genentech Inc., the world's largest maker of cancer
medicines, and Yum! Brands Inc. gained before reporting
results. Chaparral Steel Co. jumped after Gerdau Ameristeel
Corp., the U.S. unit of Latin America's biggest steelmaker,
agreed to buy the company for $4.22 billion.

(Bloomberg) -- U.S. stock-index futures advanced as
investors shrugged off concern about the housing market, and bet
that second-quarter earnings will beat analyst estimates.

Genentech Inc., the world's biggest maker of cancer
medicines, and Yum! Brands Inc. gained before reporting results.
Exxon Mobil Corp., the world's biggest oil company, climbed in
Europe after Bear, Stearns & Co. raised its earnings estimates
for the biggest oil companies.

U.S. Stock-Index Futures Fall; D.R. Horton, Sears Holdings Shares Decline

(Bloomberg) -- U.S. stock-index futures retreated
on concern the housing slump will hurt earnings after D.R.
Horton Inc. said it will report a loss and Sears Holdings Corp.
forecast its profit will fall.

D.R. Horton, the second-largest U.S. homebuilder, slid
after saying it sees no sign of a housing rebound. Sears, the
biggest U.S. department-store company, plunged after it said
earnings will trail analysts' estimates. Home Depot Inc., the
world's largest home-improvement retailer, cut its full-year
forecast.

U.S. Stock-Index Futures Gain; Alcoa, Boeing, Alnylam Advance in Europe

(Bloomberg) -- U.S. stock-index futures rose on
speculation companies' earnings will beat analyst estimates.

Alcoa Inc., the world's second-largest aluminum company,
gained in Europe before reporting second-quarter income. Boeing
Co. climbed after unveiling its 787 Dreamliner. Alnylam
Pharmaceuticals Inc. soared as Roche Holding AG, the world's
biggest maker of cancer medicines, agreed to buy the rights to
the company's therapeutic technology for up to $1 billion.

U.S. Stock-Index Futures Advance; Apple Gains in Europe on IPhone Sales

(Bloomberg) -- U.S. stock-index futures rose before
a report that may show manufacturing growth in June stayed close
to the highest in 13 months.

Apple Inc. shares gained in Europe after first figures
indicated the company's initial iPhone sales met analysts' top
estimates. Costco Wholesale Corp., the largest U.S. warehouse
club, may climb after Goldman, Sachs & Co. recommended buying
the shares. Kraft Foods Inc. dropped after a report that it may
be in discussions with Groupe Danone over the purchase of the
French company's biscuit and cereal products division.

U.S. Stock-Index Futures Fall After Bond Yields, Oil Advance; Disney Drops

(Bloomberg) -- U.S. stock-index futures fell after
bond yields and oil prices increased, reinforcing concern that
the Federal Reserve may raise interest rates.

Walt Disney Co., the world's largest theme-park operator,
and General Motors Corp., the biggest U.S. automaker, led
declines in the Dow Jones Industrial Average.

U.S. Stock-Index Futures Are Little Changed; Caterpillar Drops in Europe

(Bloomberg) -- U.S. stock-index futures were little
changed before economic reports this week that may provide clues
about the Federal Reserve's next move on interest rates.

Caterpillar Inc., the world's biggest maker of earthmoving
equipment, and Alcoa Inc., the second-largest aluminum producer,
declined in Europe. Shares of Boeing Co. climbed after the
second-biggest maker of commercial aircraft won an order valued
at about $3 billion from OAO Aeroflot.

U.S. Stock-Index Futures Decline; Dow Jones, Citigroup Fall in Europe

(Bloomberg) -- U.S. stock-index futures dropped
before a report on orders placed with factories that may show
economic growth has recovered enough to rule out a cut in
interest rates.

Dow Jones & Co. shares retreated in Europe after the Wall
Street Journal said Rupert Murdoch isn't willing to yield on what
may be a key demand from the controlling shareholders as a
takeover condition. Citigroup Inc., the world's biggest
financial-services company, declined.

U.S. Stock-Index Futures Retreat; Network Appliance Declines

(Bloomberg) -- U.S. stock-index futures dropped on
lower-than-expected earnings as investors awaited reports on
durable goods orders and new home sales that may provide further
clues on the outlook for economic growth and interest rates.

Network Appliance Inc., whose computers store and distribute
data, tumbled after the company's fiscal first-quarter sales and
profit forecast trailed analysts' estimates. Toll Brothers Inc.
fell after the largest U.S. luxury home builder said fiscal
second-quarter profit plunged 79 percent.

U.S. Stock-Index Futures Climb; Alltel Gains on Takeover; Exxon Advances

(Bloomberg) -- U.S. stock-index futures rose after
Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and TPG Inc. agreed to buy Alltel Corp.
for about $24.7 billion in the largest leveraged buyout of a
telecommunications company.

Alltel, the fifth-biggest U.S. wireless company, climbed
after the $71.50 a share offer. Exxon Mobil Corp., the world's
largest publicly traded energy company, and ConocoPhillips, the
third-biggest U.S. oil producer, advanced after the price of
crude rose above $65 a barrel.
