Fed to review inflation gauges

(Reuters) - One of the issues policymakers have wrestled with is which
benchmark to study if the Fed decides to adopt an explicit
numerical target for inflation. It is due to reexamine the
topic of communications strategy, including inflation
targeting, at its next policy meeting in June.




Economists complain that every measure of inflation has one
shortcoming or another.
