Turkish Stocks Fall for Fifth Day, Led by Koc, Akbank Shares; Migros Gains

(Bloomberg) -- Turkey's benchmark stock index
dropped for a fifth day, its longest losing streak in seven
months. Koc Holding AS and Akbank TAS paced the decline.

The ISE National 100 Index lost 102.69, or 0.2 percent, to
51,459.22 in Istanbul as 50 shares fell, 30 rose and 20 were
unchanged. That is the longest run of declines since the six
trading days ended Jan. 10.

GLOBAL MARKETS-Dollar slides, stocks pressured on credit worries

(Reuters) - Turkish markets were a bright spot, however, after elections
on Sunday in which the pro-business AK Party secured a decisive
victory. The lira and Turkish bonds rallied and Turkey's main
share index rose 2.7 percent.




Concerns about problems in the U.S. subprime -- or risky --
mortgage sector continue to swirl around markets. U.S. Federal
Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke said last week that losses could
hit $100 billion and hit consumer spending.

Vodafone posts solid Q1 as India, Turkey shine

LONDON, July 18 - Mobile phone giant Vodafone Group Plc posted robust first-quarter revenue and customer growth on Thursday as booming business in India and Turkey helped offset tough German and Italian markets.

Pepsi Bottling profit rises on price increases

(Reuters) - The largest bottler of PepsiCo Inc. beverages said net income increased to $162 million, or 70 cents per share, in the second quarter ended on June 16 from $148 million, or 61 cents per share, a year earlier.



Analysts on average were expecting 63 cents per share from the company, which operates in North America, Russia, Spain, Turkey and Greece.

UPDATE 3-Malaysia Airports-GMR group win Istanbul airport

(Reuters) - ANKARA, July 9 - A consortium of Malaysia
Airports Holdings , India's GMR Infrastructure
and Turkey's Limak clinched the rights to Istanbul's
second airport on Monday with a 1.9 billion-euro bid.




The winning bid -- which does not include 18 percent value
added tax -- beat offers from four other consortiums of foreign
and local players in a tender lasting more than 12 hours, said
Mete Arslan, chairman of Turkey's Undersecretariat for Defence
Industries .

Turkish Benchmark Rallies, Led by Garanti, Isbank: World's Biggest Mover

(Bloomberg) -- Turkey's benchmark stock index had
its biggest one-day gain this year after a report showed U.S.
inflation remained in check. Turkiye Garanti Bankasi AS and
Turkiye Is Bankasi AS paced the advance.

The ISE National 100 Index rallied 1,296.26, or 2.9
percent, to 45,971.8, posting the biggest fluctuation among
equity benchmarks tracked by Bloomberg worldwide. Eighty-six
stocks rose, five dropped and seven were unchanged. The measure
climbed 3.7 percent this week.
