RPT-US STOCKS-Indexes slide as housing, profit concerns rise

NEW YORK, July 24 - U.S. stocks tumbled on Tuesday,
with the three major indexes posting their worst one-day
performance since March 13, as disappointing results from DuPont
Co. and Countrywide Financial Corp. heightened
concerns about the housing market.
