(Bloomberg) -- Cotton in New York fell for the
first day in three after researcher Cotlook Ltd. raised its
forecast for next season's production in China, the biggest
grower, by 7.5 percent.
A larger crop in Xinjiang province prompted Cotlook to
raise the estimate for the marketing year starting in August to
7.2 million metric tons from a May forecast of 6.7 million, the
U.K.-based firm said today in a report. China will produce
7.1 million metric tons this marketing year, Cotlook said.
