Fortune says logical step to buy Absolut maker: paper

(Reuters) - Business daily Dagens Industri said Fortune's Chief Executive and Chairman Norm Wesley this week met with "key persons in the sale process".




"We have cooperated for a long time with Vin & Sprit ... It would be a natural and logical step after our close cooperation if we bought Vin & Sprit," Dagens Industri quoted him as saying.

Virgin vows to help elephants in Kenya

(Reuters) - The Virgin chairman said the endangered beasts were hemmed in by small farms mushrooming around Mount Kenya, stifling centuries-old migratory routes and sending some crashing across homesteads, threatening lives and damaging crops.




He said the airline would fund the construction of a safe passage to let about 2,000 elephants follow their natural path north of the snow-capped mountain.

Government of OPEC-member Algeria resigns

(Reuters) - The Algerian government resigned on Friday, a traditional move following parliamentary elections, but most ministers will stay in a caretaker capacity pending the announcement of a new cabinet, the president's office said.

The office of President Abdelaziz Bouteflika said in a statement carried on the official APS news agency that Prime Minister Abdelaziz Belkhadem had submitted his government's resignation to Bouteflika and it had been accepted.
